MontanaMesh is a public community project. The website is designed to be simple, but radio networks and maps can expose information that operators should understand before sharing it.
Mesh traffic
Meshtastic traffic can be heard by other radios on the same mesh. Avoid sending private, sensitive, or emergency-critical information as if it were guaranteed confidential.
Position sharing
Only share precise device positions when you are comfortable with them appearing to other operators or public dashboards.
Good Practice
Share deliberately.
Use fixed or approximate coordinates for public infrastructure nodes when that is enough.
Do not publish private site access details, credentials, or exact home information in public channels.
Ask in Discord if you are unsure how visible a setting will be before enabling it.
